About the event
Who is Mary Magdalene to you?
WE know she wrote the Gospel of Mary about her ascension to the Kingdom of Light [Heaven] although little of it has survived.
WE know Peter had trouble accepting her remarkable knowledge, because she was a woman.
Some think she is the “Beloved Disciple”, the writer of the Fourth Gospel.
WE know the church demoted her, although now they are saying she was the apostle to the apostles because of her being the first witness of Jesus out of the tomb.
But the enchantment of Mary could never be extinguished. Her story weaves through the fabric of time, a tapestry of strength and spirit that calls forth the voices of those who have been overlooked.
On September 19, with Sandy Franklin leading, we will consider: What does Mary of Magdalene have to teach us in this century?
The following images and documents were discussed at this extraordinary session where we learned and grew together in the knowledge of the relationship of love and respect that resulted in many teachings that have been lost to time, but miraculously have come to light in recent years.
