About the event

Lynn Lavictoire prepared a presentation on St. Phoebe.

Resources shared with the group. The words of Pope Francis: "What comes from the Holy Spirit cannot be stopped." adorn a card from Discerning Deacons, a group of women working to secure the role of women as Deacons in the Roman Catholic Church.

Beginning with a fun introduction, where we reflected on actors who have influenced us... Lynne guided us in a service of celebration of the life of St. Phoebe. We were reminded of the essential role of women in the early church of Christianity, before the revisions began and women were excluded from the essential roles of leadership and ministry to communities.

We shared in small groups our reflections of Phoebe and the changing roles of women in the church.

Attached is the link to Lynn's Thesis entitled The Implementation of Synodality in the Catholic Church and the Expected Impact on Women’s Issues, hosted at the University of St. Paul.
