Contemplative, Creative Reflection on Resurrection
Fri, Apr 05
|Trinity United Church
We will be listening to and exploring the power of the Easter story as found in John’s Gospel (18:1-20) using a practice of contemplative art.

Time & Location
Apr 05, 2024, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Trinity United Church, 1099 Maitland Ave, Ottawa, ON K2C 2B8, Canada
About the event
Together we will listen, reflect and respond through Lectio Divina - hearing the Gospel read three times, followed by a time of silence. Several members of our group will help guide us in further “listening and exploring” using the expressive arts: movement, visual art and writing. Contemplative arts is a gentle but powerful way of engaging our creativity for self-expression and spiritual growth. It is about process not product. There will be time to work on your own, as well as time to listen and share with each other. Please bring a journal if you have one.
A response to the Easter Gospel from Tanya Hewitt:
Jesus,
May I celebrate you not only in Jerusalem/ Not only at the Holy Sepulchre /
Not only at the site of your crucifixion/ Not only at the anointing table/
Not only at the tomb/ But at the site of your resurrection
And
In the Beauty of nature/ In the mystery of a solar eclipse/
In the joy of a world of colour/ In the delight of a world of music/
In the love of a world of air/ In the spirit of my very breath/
Of life
